7th Annual Gardening Fair
Bethel, CT — The University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program of Fairfield County and the Connecticut Master Gardener Association will sponsor their 7th Annual Gardening Fair on Saturday, August 15, 2009, from 12:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The theme of this year’s fair is Garden Design. This totally free event requires no pre-registration and offers the public an array of gardening activities sure to please everyone. There will be multiple presentations by gardening experts on several design elements: using shrubs, containers, native plants, and water. Many information booths will be set up to cover a variety of topics including organic turf care, composting, and growing vegetables and herbs. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer your gardening questions and will offer free testing of your soil sample. Free refreshments, demonstrations, a free plant raffle, the sale of gently used gardening books and other garden related activities are planned for those who attend this eagerly awaited annual gardening event. The Fair will be held on the grounds of the Fairfield County Extension Center at 67 Stony Hill Road in Bethel, CT, less than a mile from Exit 8 on I-84.
