Summary: Beware Search
Engine Optimization Junk Email (SPAM)
Have you gotten emails that solicit you for Search Engine Optimization? Things
like:
Dear _______
I visited your website and
noticed that you are not listed in most of
the major search engines and directories..."
I just received the most outrageous
SEO spam email. This company claims that for
a minimum of $89.95 per month, they will GUARANTEE
me a top 20 listing for 50 key phrases. I was
so astonished that they would make such a claim
for such an outrageous price, I almost wrote
to them. Then I remembered my own advice to NEVER
respond to spammers and instead reported the
spam to their Internet Service Provider.
However, the experience made me
realize that there are people who might believe
claims like that and might even pay that kind
of money believing they were getting a valuable
service.
Here is a link to a page at Google
that gives you some guidelines about Search Engine
Optimization companies and what to be aware of.
