Summary: Who is Visiting Your Website? How to find out.

Website Tracking Reports: What are they? Tracking reports are created from log files of visitors to your website. Depending on the report you are using, an incredible amount of data can be collected.

You can find out how many people visit your site in any given time period. You can find out what the most popular pages on your site are. You can find out how people got to your site: through a link from another site?; by directly typing your web address?; by using a search engine? What search words did they use to find your site?

Tracking reports can help determine if your website is really working for you. They can provide data on the effectiveness of any website optimization you have done.

Tracking Reports: Where do I get them? Depending on who you host your website with, they may provide some basic tracking reports. Contact your hosting company and ask about statistical reports. As with all services, some are better than others. My main issue with some of the "free with your hosting account" reports is that they are difficult to understand or may not give you flexibility in viewing the data over a time period for comparison purposes.

Special Offer: I am currently offering a two week free trial of comprehensive website tracking reports (eg. traffic analysis, top search terms, popular pages and more.) Please contact me if you are interested in learning more.
